A curated luxury week on a seaside Ranch in Portugal
The Blanco Bungalow is our family's seaside Ranch and working farm, 15 minutes north of Ericeira and 45 minutes from Lisbon. Two Casas and two Casitas, all whitewashed, sit among lovingly tended gardens, horses and Shetland ponies, with ocean cliffs and rolling hills all around. Groups come here for a holiday together, a celebration or a retreat, and we help shape the week around natural wine, long farm-to-table dinners, the surf and slow days by the pool.
The Ranch: 2 Casas, 2 Casitas, 7 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, sleeps 14
Booking the Ranch reserves both Casas and both Casitas for your group, together with the Poolhouse, the saltwater pool, the Ocotillo Spa and The Ramada. This is an exclusive Ranch booking. Strader and I live on the Ranch too, so you'll see us around, and we're close by whenever you need us.
- Casa Corazón. Our largest Casa, over two stories, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, heated floors, air conditioning, a full kitchen and dining room, and two sunny patios with outdoor dining.
- Casa Palo Verde. A rustic Portuguese Casa with two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen with views, a wood-burning fireplace, and French doors onto a patio with outdoor dining, a barbecue and views to the ocean cliffs. Washing machine included.
- The Cowboy Casita. A one-bedroom Casita beside the pool, with a king bed, a living area, a bathroom with a bathtub and a sunny patio. Not suitable for small children because of the pool.
- Le Surf Shack. A light-filled studio Casita steps from the pool, with two single beds, a lounge sofa and surf-inspired design. Wake up, grab a board and head for the waves.
- The Poolhouse. The heart of a group stay: a large communal living room with a fireplace and Frame TV, a long dining table, an indoor-outdoor communal kitchen, a barbecue, a bathroom and a large patio overlooking the pool. The Casitas have no kitchen of their own, so their guests cook here.
- The Adega. Our games room for long evenings together, with a pool table, foosball and a poker table.
- The Ocotillo Spa. Our outdoor spa, with a wood-fired sauna and ice bath for slow mornings and post-surf recovery. Sessions are booked in advance.
- The Ramada. A covered outdoor space nestled in the orchard, made for long dinners, workshops, meditation and yoga, with an outdoor firepit for evenings under the stars.

Retreats and celebrations
The Ranch is a natural fit for intimate retreats, workshops and celebrations. The Ramada hosts yoga, wine tastings and long dinners; the Poolhouse gathers everyone in the evenings. Retreat hosts lead their own programme, and we take care of the venue, the spa, the chef and the experiences. We also host intimate weddings for up to 50 guests, with 14 staying on the Ranch. Around the Ranch
The Ranch sits beside a coastal nature preserve, with hiking and mountain-biking trails from the gate. Ericeira's famous surf breaks, Ribeira d'Ilhas, Praia do Sul and Santa Cruz among them, are minutes away. In our quiet village you can walk to the pastelaria, market, butcher and traditional Portuguese restaurants. Lisbon, Sintra, Peniche and Nazaré are easy day trips.
Good to know
- The Casas are self-catering. Meals and experiences are booked separately.
- Our on-site shop, Bodega, stocks natural wine, ceramics and gifts, so there's no need to bring wine.
- We're a working farm, home to horses, Shetland ponies, dogs, cats, chickens and ducks. We don't allow outside animals.
- Children are welcome. We kindly ask that they're supervised at all times and on their best behavior, so everyone can enjoy the peace of the Ranch.
- We're eco-friendly: plant-based detergents, natural toiletries, recycling and composting.

DIRECTIONS FROM ERICEIRA:
Head North on N247 towards Assenta. You will pass Ribamar and São Lourenço. Once you pass Barril, you are getting close. Once you see a sign for Assenta, turn left onto Rua Principal. Follow it down, and turn left once you hit the T to stay on Rua Principal. Then turn left on Rua das Praias. Follow it until you see the second Bairro da Quinta, and turn left again. Follow the road down until it curves to the left and you will see us, number 34 at the end of the street on the righ hand side. We have white walls and three large green gates. Park on the street and ring the bell next to the small gate. We will come and meet you and get you checked in.

Head Northwest towards R.C, Exit the roundabout onto Av. Berlim, Continue Straight to stay on Av. Berlim, Turn Left onto Av.
